Introducing ASMO

ASMOwas founded in August 1997; ASMO is the American Swiss MOntessori Kindergarten in Bülach, Switzerland.

The kindergarten offers the following programs:

• Official Kindergarten

Approximately 80% of the children attending ASMO are not from an English speaking background. They are taught in English, offering a unique opportunity for them to learn this language from an early age. English speaking children are exposed to the languages of the other children, especially German, which is beneficial for those who will later be attending the Swiss primary schools.

In the first and second year, English is learned through singing, stories and every day commands. The child may be spoken to in German if he / she cannot understand. In the third year, the child is spoken to in English only. Learning is reinforced by audio and video tapes. In the third year, extra English lessons are available at no additional charge.
